After fulfilling the university entrance requirements and programme entrance requirements , our 34 undergraduate programmes will use either the '4C+2X' or the 'Best 5 subjects' principles to consider your admission to HKU.

For programmes using ‘Best 5 subjects’, the combination of your best 5 subjects does NOT mean ‘4C + 1X’; instead, it can be ‘3C + 2X’, or even ‘2C +3X’ (if you have taken more than 2 electives)! This arrangement will certainly give you flexibility in making the best combination of scores out of your HKDSE results!
