Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission (SALSA) - Direct Entry Stream for Top Athletes (DESTA)

This scheme facilitates the offer of direct admission into a UGC-funded full-time undergraduate programme to (i) the athletes who are eligible to represent Hong Kong in significant regional or international competitions; and (ii) the outstanding retired athletes. Any person who has demonstrated excellent sports performance is allowed to apply for the scheme provided he / she is able to obtain nomination from Hong Kong Sports Institute or National Sports Association. Successful candidate can enjoy up to HK$400,000 scholarships for three years and flexibility in curriculum delivery, alternative assessment with individualised mentoring support and academic advice.

Lingnan University Entrance Scholarships for Elite Athletes (LUESEA)

Set-up in 2017-18, this scheme awards scholarships to local elite athletes who are enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies at Lingnan University through either JUPAS or Non-JUPAS. Not only does it recognise the awardees’ remarkable sports achievements, but the scheme also aims to strengthen the competitive edge of the Lingnan teams in intervarsity sports events. The scholarship covers tuition and hostel fees per academic year (which are currently capped at HK$52,100 and subject to renewal on an annual basis).
