Q1. How will HKDSE results be counted in the selection?
Ans. Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5*, 5** assigned scores of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 respectively.
Q4. Will HKU count the result of a 3rd elective?
Ans. No, we will not count any 3rd elective in the overall selection formula because we want to be fair to those candidates who are from schools that do not allow students to undertake a 3rd elective. The level of the 3rd best elective may be treated as one of the tie-breakers when considering students with the same HKDSE scores.

The average scores attained by the students in the four core subjects of Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies are the highest among the educational institutions. As predicted, the cut-off score for HKU was a HKDSE score of 20 (sum of the Best 5 subjects, where 5**=7, 5*=6, 5=5 etc.).
